To create a lifeline to the land connecting past and future generations.
Why are you supporting Wozu? As a former Tribal Chairman, I was the leader of a system with expectations to solve all the problems of colonialism. The Tribal government is a system of reaction – reacting to 200 years of wrongs. It prevents us from being visionary and building for 200 years from now. Wozu is a breath of fresh air – an entity that is taking a proactive approach to build a future for those not yet born.
What does Wozu mean to you? Wozu means to me means to plant, grow, and care for. It means we are planting and working with the earth to create the conditions for the future we will see for our grandchildren.
What do you hope to see happen as a result? From the work of Wozu, we alleviate some of the expectations currently being placed on our tribe and tribal leaders. We build (a) system(s) of development that reconnect us to the land, creating opportunities for food sovereignty with an emphasis on self-identity and cultural awareness – Regenerating our Land, People, and Identity
