My name is Carmen Two Bears

I serve as the Program Manager for Holistic Wellness & Community Arts here at Wozu!

As Program Manager for Cultural, Arts, & Wellness (C.A.W.) within our Social Regeneration initiative, my role is about creating spaces where community members of all ages can come together, learn, share, and grow.

We offer activities that range from sensory-friendly classes for toddlers, crafts and painting for youth, to sewing and wellness classes for adults and elders. Each program is designed to be age-appropriate, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone.

A big part of our work is inviting knowledgeable community members and seasonal staff to lead cultural activities, whether it’s canning from our community garden, star quilt making, traditional medicine harvests, yoga, or walking groups. By doing this, we honor tradition, encourage wellness, and give participants the tools to carry knowledge forward.

At Wozu, we also host Elders Day every last Wednesday of the month, providing space for our elders to share a meal, reconnect with friends, and exchange stories. This is one of the ways we show our deep respect and commitment to those who carry wisdom in our communities.

For our youth, we work to create spaces where they can ask questions, build confidence, and learn about the land and traditions that surround them. From powwow dance tutorials to free monthly haircuts, we connect them with resources and experiences that promote growth, creativity, and self-expression.

At the heart of it all, C.A.W. provides — safe spaces, knowledge, and opportunities for wellness that help us stand stronger as a community.
