A helping hand is found with Wozu

Wozu, Inc.’s Regenerative Agriculture Food Sovereignty (RAFS) Program implemented a day labor program during the spring of 2024. Day Laborers are referred to as Seasonal Employees.

The need for helping hands was prevalent when the growing season started, Wozu needed help with building, transporting, and filling garden boxes with soil. The seasonal employees did so well that other programs like Wozu’s Buffalo and Culture, Arts, and Wellness programs began to utilize the seasonal employees, as well.

Day labor work is a great way to incorporate community members with Wozu’s work and it allows for Wozu to build a stronger connection with the community. Not only does it give opportunity to people, who often times, get overlooked, seasonal work highlights the unique skills and abilities of community members.

The grass is not always greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it. From honeybees to buffalo fences. Seasonal employees have helped Wozu reach goals!

Seasonal work at Wozu is not glamorous and can get dirty. But it’s honorable, it’s the work that not everyone is willing to do and it’s important to recognize the people who make Wozu a better place with their hard work and kind spirits.

Wozu is a better place with their hard work and kind spirit.

Wozu had the honor of working with and getting to know Jerrel “Paco” Joshua before his pasing in January of 2025.

Life is very short, but the way you treat people has a lasting impression. Paco worked hard at Wozu and he did it with a smile. No matter how long a task took him, he stuck with it until he finished. Paco’s work will not be forgotten.

Seasonal work is building new cycles and healthier cycles. Seasonal employees are able to grow fresh produce, process the fresh produce and share it with their community. Wozu’s RAFS lead officer, Jaimie Archambault says, “I love sharing knowledge with my fellow community members and I am proud to call Cannon Ball my home.

Wozu’s RAFS would like to thank the Following 2024 Seasonal Employees: Duress Brown, Austin Fourth, Alex Three Fingers, Nellie Brave Bull, Andrew Brown, Logan Buckley, Andre Ramsey, Ronlanda Uses Arrow, Ruthie Eagle, Clara Ramirez, Brittany Thunder Hawk and Brooke Flying Horse.
