Insights from our 2025 Seed Program

Wozu’s Regeneratie Agriculture Food Sovereignty (RAFS) Program reached out to seven of the eight Standing rock districkts via email. Of the seven districts, two responded and one Rock Creek community member requested a seed starting class. RAFS Program went to three districts: Kenel, South Dakota.. Porcupine, North Dakota.. and Rock Creek, South Dakota. One seed starting session was held at Wozu Headquarters in Cannon Ball, North Dakota.

While Wozu’s RAFS Program distribution is happens through April, we bought the seeds during January and March 2025. RAFS has made smaller packets and labels for seed distributions. RAFS creates educational posters to go along with seed distribution. We provide seeds and planting information.

Meet people where they are and broaden our outreach!

Creating education content is important for Wozu’s RAFS Program to share knowledge. We understand that there are different ways to learn and want to offer more than one learning medium. At our seed starting sessions, our staff can decorate, demonstrate or participate in how to start seeds in a pot.

RAFS puts effort in what we share with our communities and is looking forward to continue to learn new ways to share with our community.
